Navigating Your Hospital Birth Part II: Advanced Skills for Labor Variations

Births unfold in many ways. "Normal" is a huge range that includes many births that are not "textbook." Learn what the options are, how to adapt, and how to make decisions if labor does not start on it's own, follows a more meandering timeline, or becomes a c-section. While these variations and complexities are not pleasant to contemplate, having information to make an informed "Plan B" will reduce stress while helping you stay true to your birth values.

Beyond Textbook Birth is a class designed to answer the following questions, and more!
  • How can you recognize when medical interventions are necessary?
  • What are some reasons why you might need an induction?
  • When is a c-section a good idea?
  • How do you handle a labor that starts and stops or seems to stall in the middle?
  • What can you do to adapt your plans to accommodate unexpected changes, while still preserving as much of your dream as possible?
  • and more...
